There are two types of trips for which Emergency Medical Travel Insurance is applied, i.e., Single-Trip and Multi-Trip coverage. Each type of coverage caters to different travel needs, so choosing the right one is essential based on how often you travel and the nature of your trips.
| Single-Trip Plan | Multi-Trip Plan |
|---|---|
| If you're planning a one-time journey, the Single-Trip plan is perfect for you. It covers you for the entire duration of your travel, from the moment you leave until you return. This option is great if you're going on a vacation or business trip and do not travel often. Just keep in mind that you'll need to get a new policy for each trip you take. | If you’re someone who’s always on the go, the Multi-Trip plan is a great choice. It covers you for multiple journeys over a year, so you won’t need to worry about buying a new policy each time you travel. It’s especially helpful for people who find themselves traveling frequently throughout the year—making it not only convenient but also more affordable. |
| For example, if you’re heading to Europe for a two-week vacation, the Single-Trip plan will cover your emergency medical needs for the duration of your stay. | A Multi-Trip plan covers a truck driver’s border crossings all year, eliminating the need for a new policy with each trip, whether short or long. |
If you're traveling longer than initially planned, you can easily extend your coverage by choosing a Single-Trip Plan to top-up your existing Multi-Trip Annual Plan or other limited travel insurance. A top-up is essentially a new policy that gives you the added protection you need, and it’s subject to the same terms and conditions as your original plan.
Keep in mind that pre-existing medical conditions might not be covered as per the exclusions in the policy. For top-up coverage to kick in, it must start the day after your current policy expires and must cover the exact number of days that your original insurance didn’t.
This option ensures that you stay fully protected if your travel plans change and you need more coverage than originally planned.
